The problem

Destination BC needed help with creating a brand new web platform that would promote the region's attractions, activities and events happening in British Columbia, with the need to attract potential tourists from outside the region. With an outdated website that badly needed a refresh, the new design was to be part of a larger strategic communication and re-branding exercise that would kickstart the next evolution of how they market the brand.

The problem

Destination BC needed help with creating a brand new web platform that would promote the region's attractions, activities and events happening in British Columbia, with the need to attract potential tourists from outside the region. With an outdated website that badly needed a refresh, the new design was to be part of a larger strategic communication and re-branding exercise that would kickstart the next evolution of how they market the brand.

The problem

With the objective in mind of transporting the visitor to an environment of wide open spaces and adventure, immersive and easy to use UX, we have thought and designed a grandiose adventure set in which we put the user forward as as the main actor. Offering a clean and concise aesthetic, the new HelloBC.com integrates videos, maps, high-quality images, and user-generated content into an immersive travel-planning experience. The site is centred on storytelling, seamlessly guiding travelers through the entire trip planning process – from ideation to booking to in-destination support – through intuitive navigation, personalization capabilities and actionable links.
